Vacancies at EAR Sheppard Consulting Civil & Structural Engineers in Eastbourne

Senior Structural Engineer/Technical Director
Competitive package negotiable
Eastbourne

Do you have the ambition to run a practice as a Director, but don’t want the financial risks of going it alone? Want to apply your own standards in an environment that can support your ambitions as a Structural Engineer?

As an experienced Structural Engineer, you love solving problems. You’re highly skilled in structural design when it comes to buildings, and over the years you’ve built some amazing relationships with clients – be that with architects, main contractors, or even local authorities.

You’re now looking for a new challenge. One that will see you play a pivotal role in the development of a well-established and highly-regarded practice on the south coast.

If you’re looking for the opportunity to apply not only your considered technical expertise but also your commercial awareness in a highly-rewarding environment, here’s your chance.

The opportunity

You’ll join forces with a structural engineering consultancy with an unrivalled reputation in the area. This will give you the springboard to further develop your professional relationships, where you’ll work on construction projects across several sectors up to £5m in value.

Your projects will range from the design of bespoke residential dwellings to structural inspections of listed buildings, as well as a good mix of commercial schemes.

No two jobs and no two days are the same here.

It’s a great opportunity to realise your commercial aspirations, as you’ll take a lead role in the development of the practice, shaping the direction of the team going forward with a clear path to a financial stake and ownership in the business.

What you’ll bring to the table

You’ll have several years’ experience as a Structural Engineer in the design of buildings, ideally within a consultancy environment. It’s a senior role, so managerial experience or the mentoring of junior engineers or graduates would be highly beneficial as you’ll be running the team.

Chartered status with the ICE or IStructE would be beneficial, but isn’t the be-all and end all right now. We’re interested in your skills and experience and can offer a lucrative salary and benefits package to reward you for this.

If you want to have a meaningful impact on the local landscape, whilst imprinting your expert knowledge on the next generation of Structural Engineers, we’d love to hear from you.

What else is on offer for you?

The salary is entirely negotiable, but realistically as this is a management position, we’d like to open a dialogue at the top end of your expectations.

You don’t need to put together a CV and send it over. We should talk first. Call us for an informal chat, or click apply’ and I’ll be in touch. If you’ve been weighing up your future and have aspirations of being a Director, let’s discuss this.

Finding out more costs you nothing, and it could be the best call you make today.
